Upcycled and embellished vintage embroidered bodice from Afghanistan. Added details include silk embroidery trims, chenille trim on the arms, and massive fringes around the waist. Fits a size S- M easily, over-the-head entrance only.
Original bodice dates from the early 20th century, and the Singkiang customization from 2020. This was a piece from my own collection, worn proudly for years!
The paired embroidery is a beautiful textile skirt (parha) from the Memon or Lohana Community, Tharparkar, Sindh, Pakistan, or Banni Kutch, Gujarat. [The Memon people have cultural similarities with the Khoja, Khatri, and Gujarati peoples.] Wrapped around our model as a skirt, it can be customized as a proper skirt for an added fee.
