Pair of heavy carved wood paneled doors having figures of riders and other animals such as primitively carved peacocks . The heavy iron iron hardware indicate and earlier date . The pair of doors are mounted on a custom heavy stand. 19th c or possibly earlier.
Created by the Bastar people (one of India's Scheduled tribes) living in Bastar district in the state of Chhattisgarh in Central India, of Madhya Pradesh when I purchased these in the early 1980's .
