Bill Whitten, a Hollywood designer known for some of the most iconic costumes such as Michael Jackson's white glove, designed this tunic incorporating satin ribbons, faux glass gems, embroidery reminiscent of Central Asian embroidery with silk tassel trims.
The style and label suggests this was created in the early 70's possibly for Earth Wind and Fire for their Runnin album and tour. This piece also corresponds in color palette and design materials to Bill Whitten's iconic "Bicycle John" outfit from Elton John's 1974 American tour which is housed in the British Museum.

The striped ribbon skirt I have styled as a set with this piece is from the same period and was also obtained in LA and has been in my closet waiting for a matched tunic for over 20 years. If this doesn't sell it's back in my closet to enjoy!
