Very rare antique assrou n' swoul pendant worn by the Niger Tuareg living in Mali. These are designed to act as a counter weight to their large Indigo veils. This particular style of pendant is worn by wealthier women.
Highly skilled Tuareg smiths employ a layered metal technique known as the "sandwich," using silver, copper and brass.
