Silver disks strung together with cord is one of the consistent design elements of the headdresses from this region. There are a few different types here: the two with the crimped edges and holes are the more traditional headdresses, while the domed coins and flatter coins are also related but a variation from town or sub group of cultures in the region.
I have set the photo up like that of a field photo showing the way these ornaments are traditionally worn. These are now used as necklaces and they look great piled up!
Valley of Todrha and Ziz, Morocco. The headdresses all date from the end of the 19th /early 20th century.
