Wonderfully tactile grass root circular fans, covered with varnished paper. Plant roots or fiber radiate out from a wooden centre and semicircular handle, both painted with a leaf design.
The design at the centre of the fan shows three red rose like flowers with dark green leaves on a yellow-gold background. This image is encircled by a raised border of cane or a thin strip of wood fixed into place with tied bindings. Beyond this border is a second painted area bearing a design of alternating red and green spots.
