Silk kimono made as a dress during the Art Nouveau period and featuring a cross back detail that is typical of dresses during this time period. Orientalist designers during the period drew inspiration from Asia, and Asia also produced fabrics and kimono designs for export or ex-pats living abroad. The shibori technique is a red on white. I have up cycled the lapel of the front with a hand crocheted ribbon. Can be used as a dress or lounge robe. Circa 1900-1912.
